Arsenal fans were stunned by Alexis Sanchez’ reaction to Alexandre Lacazette missing from a few yards against Chelsea.
The Chilean, who was linked with a move to Manchester City in the summer, has only recently returned for the Gunners amid speculation his mind was elsewhere.
He crushed these worries by scoring in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Cologne in the Europa League on Thursday, but was left out of the trip to Stamford Bridge.
The 28-year-old has yet reached full fitness, but will likely make an appearance for Arsenal at some point in the second half.
Watching the first 45 minutes of the match from the dugout, Sanchez witnessed Aaron Ramsey running from deep before breaking through on goal.
He then saw the Welshman hit the post with his effort before Lacazette fired over the crossbar from a few yards.
The rebound came at the France international quite quickly, to be fair to him, but he probably should have done better given the circumstances.
Reacting to the miss, the entire Arsenal bench was captured by the Sky Sports cameras ruing their luck.
Arsene Wenger looked distraught, Olivier Giroud had his head in his hands, David Ospina looked worse for wear, and Sanchez, well, Sanchez burst out laughing.
Now we highly doubt the Chilean found the miss funny – it’s more likely he had been joking about with Ospina at the time the camera turned to him.
